Daman Game - Responsible Gaming

Daman Game responsible gaming: how to set deposit and time limits, recognise problem-gambling warning signs, self-exclude, and reach confidential 18+ support helplines.

Play within your limits

Responsible gaming on Daman Game begins with a fixed personal budget set before your first bet of the day. A practical starting point is allocating no more than 2 to 5% of your monthly disposable income to gaming, for example, if you take home ₹30,000 a month, a sensible ceiling is ₹600 to ₹1,500 across the entire month. Track every deposit through your UPI history on PhonePe, GPay, or BHIM so the total is always visible and honest.

Never chase losses by topping up mid-session. If you hit your pre-set limit, close the app and treat the amount as the cost of entertainment, identical to a movie ticket or a meal out. Set a phone alarm or use Daman Game's session-time reminder so extended play does not go unnoticed. Keeping gaming as one small leisure line item in your monthly budget, alongside OTT subscriptions or dining out, helps maintain the right perspective.

Warning signs of problem gambling

Problem gambling rarely appears overnight. Early financial red flags include depositing more than planned in a single sitting, transferring money to your gaming wallet directly after receiving your salary, or using credit features on apps like LazyPay or Simpl to fund top-ups. Behavioural signals include hiding your screen when family members walk past, lying about the time you spend on Daman Game, or feeling irritable and restless on days you do not play.

Emotional signs are equally important: guilt immediately after a session, mood swings tied entirely to winning or losing, or a compulsive need to increase stake sizes to feel the same excitement. If you recognise two or more of these patterns over a two-week period, treat it as a clear signal to activate the limit and exclusion tools described in the sections below, or to contact a helpline immediately.

Deposit, loss and time limits

Daman Game provides three built-in responsible gaming controls accessible from your account settings under Responsible Gaming → Limits. A deposit limit caps the total amount you can add to your wallet per day, week, or month, for instance, setting ₹500 per day blocks any UPI or net-banking transaction above that threshold for the chosen period. A loss limit automatically locks your account from further play once cumulative losses reach the figure you specify, preventing the common cycle of chasing. A session-time limit shows a full-screen alert and optionally logs you out after 30, 60, or 90 minutes of continuous activity.

All three limits take effect immediately when set and require a mandatory 24-hour cooling period before any increase can be applied, so a hasty decision made mid-session cannot undo a responsible choice made earlier. Reducing a limit, however, takes effect straight away. Review and adjust your limits at the start of every month, treating it like balancing any other household budget entry.

Self-exclusion and cool-off

If limits alone are not enough, Daman Game offers two stronger interventions. A cool-off period suspends your account for 1, 7, 14, or 30 days, during which you cannot log in, deposit, or place any game. This is suitable when you feel you need a short reset without a permanent break. To activate, go to Account → Responsible Gaming → Take a Break, select your duration, and confirm. The suspension begins within minutes.

Self-exclusion is a longer-term block of 6 months or more and is intended for players who recognise a serious problem. Once self-exclusion is activated it cannot be reversed before the chosen period ends, regardless of requests. During exclusion, marketing emails and promotional notifications from Daman Game are also suppressed. Both tools are far more effective than simply deleting the app, because they operate at the account level rather than the device level.
